First Nations Languages Subcommittee

The FNESC First Nations Languages Subcommittee is focused on the issue of Aboriginal language revitalization in British Columbia. The subcommittee consists of representatives from organizations throughout BC which include post- secondary institutes, Bands, Tribal Councils, K-12 schools and cultural organizations. The subcommittee works on initiatives which will encourage and enhance educational opportunities regarding the many BC Aboriginal languages.

  • Established in 1992, the First Nations Education Steering Committee is an independent society led by a strong and diverse board of 105 First Nations community representatives.

    FNESC is committed to improving education for all First Nations students in BC.
