The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC), The Province of British Columbia (BC) and Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) hosting the Nominal Roll Learning Series- Joint Verification Process (JVP) webinars.

The webinars are intended for First Nation Education Coordinators, Education Directors, or Education Managers and school district Secretary Treasurers and Indigenous Education Directors/Managers.

JVP was introduced in the 2019/20 school year as part of the implementation of the British Columbia Tripartite Education Agreement: Supporting First Nation Student Success (BCTEA). Joint verification is an important process between First Nations and local school districts that helps ensure Nominal Roll students are appropriately accounted for and that funding is calculated accurately. Joint verification on a tripartite basis, including Indigenous Services Canada, is currently under development.

This webinar will provide both parties an opportunity to hear about information that can impact the joint verification process and ensure both First Nations and school districts have the same understanding of roles and responsibilities.

The webinars will cover the following:

  • Overview of JVP
  • JVP process
  • Considerations when meeting to discuss JVP
  • Navigating through JVP issues
