First Nations Languages Subcommittee

Since its establishment, FNESC has actively promoted and supported a variety of First Nations language professional development opportunities, research projects and services for First Nations and schools.  These initiatives have been largely led by a First Nations Languages Sub-Committee comprised of community and partner organization representative.

Through FNESC’s history, the Sub-Committee has been engaged in a number of initiatives, such as the development of a First Nations Language and Culture Curriculum Framework, First Nations Languages Roundtable, advancement of First Nations Language Teacher Education programs, First Nations Language Degree Framework preparation, professional development opportunities and work with partners.
