The Indian Studies Support Program (ISSP) provides funding to promote access to quality First Nations post-secondary learning programs for First Nations learners. Any First Nations Band, Tribal Council, organization, or First Nations post-secondary institute located in BC may apply for ISSP funding. The ISSP Committee reviews all funding applications, and makes recommendations to Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada about the allocation of ISSP funding.
The ISSP Committee is an independent body that has established a fee-for-service agreement with FNESC. According to that agreement, FNESC provides administrative support to the ISSP Committee.
Each year, the ISSP Committee distributes its Proposal Guidelines and Handbook, outlining information about how to apply for ISSP funding as well as annual reporting requirements. In addition, a Guide to Proposal Writing is available, to assist potential applicants to the ISSP.
