About Regional Sessions
The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) invites you to the annual Regional Sessions to learn about the new BC Tripartite Education Agreement (TEA) and the work of our partners, and to engage in a meaningful dialogue about First Nations education.
FNESC and its education partners annually report on their activities and important First Nations education issues at a series of workshops known as Regional Sessions. They represent a fundamental component of FNESC’s efforts to maintain accountability to First Nations in BC, to discuss emerging issues with a range of education stakeholders and partners, and to facilitate input from community and school representatives. They are also intended to support the capacity of BC First Nations to address education issues.
BC TEA – Public Schools, LEAs, Transportation, Accountability; Jurisdiction; and Post-Secondary. Also presentations (tbc) by the Ministry of Education and Department of Indigenous Services Canada.
BC TEA – First Nation Schools, including Language & Culture, Information and Communications Technology, Transportation Capital, and Adults; Special Education Program, Second and Third Level Services; BC TEA Funding Handbook, and updates.
Background materials and a draft agenda will be available in advance to support discussions.
Ellen Hartnett, Administrative Assistant
