Supporting Capacity Development for First Nations K-12 Education Governance (ED.GOVERNANCE)
This initiative recognizes that strong governance is a crucial factor in success of First Nations primary, elementary, and secondary students, wherever they attend school – whether in a public, First Nation, or non-First Nation Independent school.
Accordingly, the initiative not only supports First Nations in building their capacity for education governance but it also supports the community authority that oversees First Nations education broadly, and/or a First Nations School Governing Authority specifically, where applicable.
The First Nations Schools Association and First Nations Education Steering Committee jointly deliver this program, which is supported by the Indigenous Services Canada.
See full details in the program guidelines.
Eligibility
First Nation Bands in British Columbia will receive an allocation based on the number of eligible youth attending First Nations schools, public schools, and private/independent schools.
