The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) invites you to the upcoming BC Specific First Nation School Capital Funding Model Meeting. This meeting will provide information regarding FNESC’s research and development of a BC-specific First Nation school capital funding model, as well as seek direction from First Nations. This meeting will also provide an opportunity to get an update on the status of the current BC Tripartite Education Agreement (BCTEA).
For decades, BC First Nations have shared concerns over the lack of adequate funding for First Nation education facilities, including teacherages. To address these concerns, BC First Nations Leadership mandated FNESC to undertake research to develop a BC-specific First Nation school capital funding model. The BC Specific First Nation School Capital Funding Model Meeting will bring together BC First Nations to provide an update on the work being done to address this.
