This workshop is designed to provide First Nations with support and information related to Nominal Roll (NR) and the Joint Verification Process (JVP) in addition to Indigenous Services Canada’s (ISC) NR and JVP (virtual) Learning Series.
ISC will provide an overview of the NR and JVP policies including any recent policy changes. There will be an opportunity to share some best practices and address related questions from First Nations.
Funding Services Officers and Education Programs staff from Indigenous Services Canada will be available throughout the day to answer questions. Staff from the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) and the Ministry of Education and Child Care will also be in attendance and available to answer questions.

- Overview ISC BC’s 2025/26 Nominal Roll policy and Joint Verification Process
- Information about funding flow, common discrepancies between NR and the 1701, and other related topics
- First Nation Representatives will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with ISC Funding Services Officers and other support staff to answer related questions
- Best practices in completing the NR and JVP

ELIGIBILITY
Participation is limited to up to two education representatives per BC First Nation/Tribal Council with students on Indigenous Services Canada’s (ISC BC) Nominal Roll (e.g. education coordinator/director). Maximum venue capacities apply.

- Note that FNESC will only reimburse up to $419 + tax per night. Registrants will be responsible for the difference on rooms exceeding that price.
- It is also an option to book at a different hotel and claim up to $419 + tax per night. Richmond hotels may offer slightly more economical options.
TRAVEL EXPENSES
Travel/hotel reimbursement is available for up to two First Nation representatives per First Nation (Band) or Tribal Council in attendance. Travel claims are due within 30 days of the event by mail with original receipts. See the sample claim form (including policies).
SCHEDULE
9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Breakfast (8:00 am) and lunch provided.
