Nominal Roll and Joint Verification Process In-Person Workshop

September 11, 2026 – Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront

This workshop is designed to provide First Nations with information and support related to Indigenous Services Canada’s (ISC) Nominal Roll (NR) and the Joint Verification Process (JVP). This in-person event will complement ISC’s NR and JVP Virtual Learning Series.

ISC will provide an overview of the NR and JVP, including new updates. There will be an opportunity to share some best practices and address related questions from First Nations.

ISC Funding Services Officers and Education Programs staff will be available throughout the day to answer questions. Staff from the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) will also be in attendance and available to answer questions.

FNESC is pleased to support ISC in delivering this event.

  • Overview ISC BC’s 2026/27 Nominal Roll policy and Joint Verification Process
  • Information about NR policy changes including public school tuition funding now flowing to First Nations
  • Discussion on common discrepancies between NR and the 1701 and other related topics
  • First Nation Representatives will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with ISC Funding Services Officers and other support staff to answer related questions

Eligibility to Attend

Participation is limited to up to two education representatives per BC First Nation/Tribal Council that have students on ISC BC’s Nominal Roll (e.g. education coordinator/director). Maximum venue capacities apply.

Travel

Travel/hotel reimbursement is available for up to two First Nation representatives per First Nation (Band) or Tribal Council in attendance. Travel claims are due within 30 days of the event by mail with original receipts. See the sample claim form (including policies).

Hotel nights will be reimbursed to First Nations and Tribal Councils at the negotiated room block rate.

Meeting 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Breakfast (8:00 am) and lunch provided.
