Dear First Nations Communities,
The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) has been successful in advocating for $8.2 million of federal funding provided to the Province for COVID-response in the education system. FNESC is allocating the funding as grants to assist First Nations in providing supports in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for students who live on-reserve and normally attend public and off-reserve independent schools.
FNESC sent grant allocation letters to First Nations last week, including instructions for submitting a Letter of Intent to access the funds.
