March 18, 2020
Sent on behalf of Deborah Jeffrey, FNESC Executive Director
In response to the continued COVID-19 pandemic in British Columbia and based on the guidance of public health officials, the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) has made a number of changes to our operations that will be in effect until further notice.
As previously communicated, between now and April 30, 2020, all FNESC events including workshops, meetings, and conferences are being cancelled, postponed or, moved to a virtual format. Individual event updates will be sent out as soon as possible. FNESC has also ceased staff travel.
As of March 18th, our office is currently closed. During this period staff will be working remotely and as a result some services will be temporarily modified or unavailable and responses may be delayed. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
We appreciate your understanding during these difficult times and we will do our best to resume services as soon as possible, recognizing that the well-being and support to First Nations students, schools, and communities is a vital priority.
As the situation develops we will continue to provide updates. For the latest news and COVID-19 resources from FNESC, please visit www.fnesc.ca/covid19.
Sincerely,
Deborah Jeffrey, Executive Director
